The time I wrote it I had just lost my 2 year old son in a car accident and I was searching for a way to disconnect my feelings and looking for anything that cou ld take me away from thinking about that event. the chorus specifically just describes feeling like I was losing everything at once and screaming inside because on the outside I felt it was best to maintain a calm and very in control appearance for my kids that are still alive and suffering also in their own way.
